oh, wow. where to even start.

beckett's was the first birth I've ever seen or shot. to say it was life-changing could not even begin to describe the amazing, sacred thing the whole experience was.

one of the truest aspects of who I am is the mama in me. I don't know how or when it will happen, but I do know that one way or another, someday I am going to be someone's mom. there is nothing I want or feel more called to in the world.

the honor of seeing and documenting someone become a mother and a father and of pure, beautiful life being brought into this world is one of the greatest things I've ever experienced. the hushed awe of everyone in the room. the nurses' quiet murmurs of encouragement. the excitement and anticipation in mom's eyes even through labor. dad whispering, "you're doing it! oh wow, honey! you're giving us our baby!"

I was shaking. I was crying. I was hoping against hope my shots would be sharp, because I couldn't clearly see a thing.

what a precious, miraculous thing.

scroll + be touched. xoxo
